Gunashli Oilfield Trading

In order to market the crude oil produced by Gunashli Oilfield from Turkey’s Ceyhan port, the “Gunashli Oilfield Trading” company was founded in 2007. Later, the business expanded its business operations and engaged in the trading of oil and oil-related items from other parties. Under the “Contract of the Century,” the business traded the first cargo of “Azeri Light” oil extracted from the Ceyhan port in 2008. Along with the “bp” firm, “Gunashli Oilfield Trading” trades crude oil that is transported over the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline as well as oil that is transferred by the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline. Along with oil under the “Azeri Light” brand, it also trades third-party crude oil, naphtha, gasoline, liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gas oil, condensates, and ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel.

In order to efficiently carry huge quantities of oil and oil-related products to its clients, “Gunashli Oilfield Trading” was able to build a fleet of more than 30 tankers. It extended its fleet by adding 7 new, contemporary tankers in 2017—2 Suezmax- and 5 Aframax-type tankers—for the transportation of oil and oil-related products. To further its international operations, “Gunashli Oilfield Trading” created representative offices in Singapore in 2009 and London in 2015. The company currently employs 200 people across its branches in Geneva, London, Singapore, Dubai, and Houston. The business also maintains representational offices in Moscow, Monaco, and Istanbul.

Along with Siemens and GEM Holding, Gunashli Oilfield Trading actively participates in the execution of Gunashli Oilfield’s international projects and is a major shareholder in ElectroGas Malta. As a member of this group, Gunashli Oilfield won the international bid in 2013. The gas terminal, which was formally inaugurated in April 2017, and the 500 million euro Delimara electric station are two examples of this. The Delimara power plant has improved Malta’s electricity production efficiency by 53%. With the station up and running, it was possible to cut the volume of hazardous waste by 90% and the price of electricity by 25%. It should be noted that the Maltese state firm receives energy and natural gas from “ElectroGas Malta.”
